ABOUT US

S2 Mountaineering is a New Mexico (USA) non-profit corporation organized to educate and promote knowledge and enjoyment of the high alpine environment. S2 encourages climbers at all levels of experience and interest to become a member and participate in an expedition appropriate to the individual’s skill level. S2 was organized to promote access and understanding of the mountain environment to all people in a manner that develops confidence, as well as appreciation and preservation of the high alpine environment.

S2 is redefining mountaineering by bringing the operational standards of a dedicated team of world class mountaineers and adventure specialists to the high alpine environment. At the front of safety and performance, S2 Mountaineering is pioneering ascent strategies to the world’s tallest and most remarkable peaks. S2’s thoughtful approach to mountaineering maximizes personal safety, summit success, and the protection of precious alpine environmental and cultural resources.

“Long before climbing became a franchise, mountaineers who preceded us came together and shared their dreams and passion for the mountains. They would discuss an objective, develop a plan and go with it. There should be an alternative to the commercial expedition - that’s why we’re returning to tradition.”
